Is screen time bad for your mental health?

For internet safety week the question posed to children was, “Is screen time bad for your mental health?”.  We explored the effects that gaming, watching videos and using social media can have on children’s moods, feelings, and emotions. The topic also gave pupils a greater understanding of what their mental health is. Although the legal age for most social media sites is 13, studies show that 80% of 8-12-year-olds have a social media account. The following link takes you to the PowerPoint used with the pupils if you wish to discuss it further with your child.
