Computing Vision Statement

Pupils at Packmoor Ormiston Academy will continue to enjoy computing and develop the necessary skills to prepare them for later life, whether this be during high school, college, university or in their careers. Children will understand how technology is used in the world around us and how the skills they are learning today are the foundations to their future. At Packmoor Ormiston Academy we believe “technology skills and computing are embedded within all aspects of learning to ensure our pupils are fit for the future”.

SMSC in Computing

  • Spiritually – by wondering about the power of the digital age and the possibilities and limitations of technology.
  • Morally –  by considering the benefits and potential dangers of the internet (eg. charity campaigns, cyber bullying)
  • Socially – helping children understand ways to stay safe when using on line services and social media.
  • Culturally – by exploring human achievements and creativity in relation to worldwide communications and to develop a sense of awe and wonder at human ingenuity.
